Big overpopulated cities are similar in these terms

Several people from England have told me that London is pretty bad and the media does a good job of making it seem appealing. Does anyone know of a more desirable part of England to visit?

Are you planning a holiday or to live?

Either way there are lots of places that are better than London and a few places in London that are nice.

It's a universal problem. But I have to say Eastern Europe is doing pretty well. Brno is lovely.

Then visit the Historical places and then leave London. Some great places to visit outside the city. Suffolk, West Country, Scotland, Wales. Just steer clear of big cities.

He made the silly mistake of taking a handful of people and then saying they were all like that. I can do the same with Germans.

1) A few on holiday come down to the pool to throw their towels over the sun loungers, so all Germans do that.

2) A few Germans are Nazis, so all Germans are Nazis.

On the other hand I linked my story to articles showing a problem where gypsies as a race have failed to integrate in many places, I'm right. He's wrong.

One could say that no Jews integrated because a few ultra orthodox Jews don't. But that would be racist so I don't say it about the entire Jewish race.

like most capitals & big cities, Paris is a bigger shit hole, alas, even Paris has some lovely areas, clean and friendly.

London too has some lovely areas, the parks, the rivers, the city centers.

I grew up in Croydon, and can vouch that it's a shithole.

I left England in 1981 after I realized my hometown--London--was an awful place to live, and full of awful people. The few times I've been back since then has only confirmed my conclusion that London/England are awful places to live, and that English people are still awful. And every time I visited I was told how much better the food had become, only to find it was still as awful as I remember (my father was Italian, and a great cook, so the food I ate at home was always very good).

Oh, and the weather is awful too. Few things give me more pleasure than complaining to Brits that here in Los Angeles I have to suffer through more than 300 days of sunshine a year.

I've been to London twice in the past five years.... I thought it was amazing.
