The DJ's if they didn't agree are free to seek employment elsewhere if it's that important to them. No, they don't "own" the music but they do have control over what will be played and what won't be. As a DJ you are an employee, your employer has the complete right of telling you what you can play and what you can't. It's not a difficult concept to grasp except for you.

At 26, I have been able to meet and work with some of the very people I looked up to as a kid holding records and listening to them in the headphones hiding beer from my mom dude, I dont mean to sound like I brag, honestly. I just am oproud of what I have done and my accomplishments no matter how small they may seem to some.
