Clearly what the tweet meant was that NASA should be focusing on bigger things like going to Mars and not the moon which they did 50 years ago. To get to Mars you will need to use the moon (in part).

Trump's dementia is kicking in again... Just a bit over a year ago he was telling NASA to send us back to the moon.. I remember this clearly because it's one of the few things he's signed I agreed with.. Now no surprise he doesn't even remember he is the one who directed NASA to go to the moon again... Clearly he is loosing it..

To give Trump credit (he needs it, trust me) what he probably meant to say was something like Mars and the Moon are connected as a part of Nasa's larger goal. You're welcome Trump.

To me though, it makes more sense to back to the moon for now. Mars is exciting, but I'd rather see robotic submarines sent to Europa first. I think it is the best place in the solar system to find alien life.
