"Guru" and I got into a message board argument when he first came on board with sex.com. Gary Kremen and I had formed an LLC together a few months before he met "Guru". We intended to provide content and market a few paysites (completely seperate from sex.com, of course). But, to make a long story short, mouthing off about "Guru" really fucked it up. I mouthed off about "Guru" on a well known message board (not this one) right after Gary turned the reigns of sex.com over to him. After making such a commitment, Gary had to stick up for him. It pissed me off. So why did I mouth off about "Guru"? Before entering the adult world I was a computer consultant. Among other things, I consulted with my "mainstream" clients on search engines. At the time some of the advice "Guru" was giving was very outdated and a sure way to be banned forever from search engines. I haven't kept up with his current practices. I'm sure he's changed his tactics. But back then he was just talking to hear himself talk. Unless you knew better, he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I'm sure he did at one time, but search engines were changing drastically and "Guru" was too busy lecturing on search engines to actually keep up with the technology search engines were using. Gary was new to the adult world at the time and was eating up his advice because he is, after all, a bonafide "Guru". :) Since Gary choose to listen to the shitty search engine advice he was receiving from "Guru", he and I parted ways and rarely spoke. Now we're friends again (I live 5 minutes from him). Gary's since let me know that the things I was telling him turned out to be true after all. I feel vindicated. :) So, master "Guru", since sex.com is over for you and we haven't spoken since our "falling out", I'd like to offer to bury the hatchet on this thread and become friends. And I'd like to wish you good luck with your new venture! :thumbsup |

Sex.Com does not penalize and can provide country specific traffic for better conversions -

Yea, LOL. Well, Perlcoders scripts seem to work pretty dam well for me. I mean, I'd like to see scripts that go thru more abuse than I put them thru and still work just perfectly, LOL. And yes jimmy, I'd like to talk to you about wholesale traffic. Hit me up sometime .. :) Adult Site Traffic |

Saw the endorsement in that article. Actually didn't know you did that article until peeps were talking about it. I luv Perlcoders scripts, and they have been effective for me. Always happy with your products Nuc. Keep it up bro! |
I had an article about this last month on my site. Didn't upsell a script from it though. Might not be a bad idea to go back and add an affiliate link.

I have nothing against the selling of expired domains for traffic or for search engines other than Google. But, Google has made it public that expired domains are being penalized and all pr and links to them will be deleted from google. The rep. from google has posted about this on webmasterworld many times.
googleguy on expired domains |
You are correct littlecloud, GoogleGuy has said something about it.
However, if you believe everything they say...you are depending on their desire to see YOUR business grow...right? No way! The engines have never cared about the webmaster...in general. Reason why is that just when they get rid of one offender, 10 more take his place. I stood in San Fran at the first Search Engine Strategies Conference held by Danny Sullivan (back in the day) and questioned a technically saavy rep from Excite. I asked him about the possibilities of cloaking a site thats indexed at Excite. He stated that not only was it impossible, but if it were attempted...that the offending site would be banned. At the time I asked him that question, I had been #1 for the word "viagra" and it was cloaked. Cloaking continued to work at Excite until the day they shut their doors! So the engines, have become more open over the last couple years...however...I never take to heart what a rep is saying when it comes to straight SEO related topics on a public board. You can always be assured that they will state an affirmative action (one to penalize) they may take in regards to anything that could be used to gain PR, higher ranking, etc...without doing it as Google intends you to do it. So again, if you can NAB a domain from Google...before they KNOW its expired...you are golden. WILLIAM: You picked up one back in Jan, and its not had any impact on backlinks or PageRank has there? |
I can't help but jump in here and pitch a good word for Daron aka SEguru. I've know Daron for some 3 years now, met him online when I first started adult.
I've had the opportunity to join him or work for him on several different projects and every single one made me $$. Not just little bitty penny pouch but nice monthly salary. As a boss, you couldn't have a cooler guy to run the ship. Time and time again Daron comes on the boards and shares his knowledge, tips and stuff he learns. I'm sure the latest project will be another success and sure to benefit every webmaster. Good luck Daron with the new project and before the sceptics ask how much I got paid for this I will tell you not only I'm not getting paid anything, I am also doing some free design for Daron to help him launch his new program. It's funny after all this time your competition still hasn't figured out what makes Seguru stand out from the crowd? Why does he share instead of hoard? Simple. Daron is the kind of guy that recognizes the advantage of making money for his partners. Nuff said.. |

Not only does he get it, but he delivers. Thats why we have still managed to continue doing business with one another for the last 3 years. So..cheap plug here for Tib: SexyMojo Design |
