The tariffs are not being imposed because Mexico isn't stopping Mexicans from claiming asylum, it is because Mexico is letting all the Central Americans through. These tariffs aren't on Central American goods.

when you take the tariffs out of the count you can see the real picture.
and if you take wholesale inventories into this calculation you see that the production in the US is not sold but on stock.
