Zealot is a zealot is a zealot...no matter what religion they come from. I am a pragmatic person. I think a compromise should be reached among the zealots:
1) first trimester NO restrictions
2) second trimester restricted except incest or rape
3) third trimester ONLY if the life of the mother is in danger.
My view: If the woman could not figure out what to do for 3 to 6 months, she may as well give a birth.

So many people here have what I call the "home field" mentality. Congress regularly has an approval rating so bad it is between 10-20% and yet they enjoy about a 95% reelection rate. People tend to think Congress sucks, but their Congressman is good.
Not to mention there is about 25% of the population who will not vote for a Democrat under any circumstance and another 25% that will not vote for a Republican under any circumstance.
Add in the Citizen's United ruling and now there is basically unlimited money being poured into the two major parties. The only way I can see a legit third party starting is if someone very rich who financed their own campaign created a party around it. Perot nearly did it with the Reform Party, but they went off the rails.
I think it is going to get much worse before it gets better here in the US.Comment
