I don't think you understand how the laws work with contacting foreign countries and govt workers. Trump was not elected to govt office before 2016 so for him to make any dealings on behalf of the United states he would need permission by the state dept. Otherwise he was breaking the law because he was a civilian.

Congressmen do not need permission to talk to other countries on behalf of the united states..

They did not GIVE Iran the money. It was Iran's money in the first place.

This was part of the agreement for Iran not moving forward with their nuclear program.

The best part is... The original deal with Iran is still in place. The United States has pulled out of it, but the original deal is still in place with other countries. In fact, the only country who violated the deal is... The United States.
