    Robot Wars

    Anybody watch this stuff? I just seen my first show last week and I was instantly HOOKED! Then on Sunday, there was the 8 hour Robot Wars marathon. Watched 5 hours of it before I had to leave.

    People build their own radio controled robots, mostly on wheels and equip them with weapons n shit. Then 2 people go at it in the cage and score points on various hits / hazards. There's different weight classes and some of these things run in the 100s of pounds.

    The middleclass championship is on Tuesday. All shows are on comedy central. Keep an eye out for it!

      Don't you mean "Battle Bots"?

      I think "robot wars" is on the Sci-fi Channel.

      Battle bots rule. especially the super heavy weight class (400 pounds+)

          battle bots kicked ass yesterday, and it was great how they topped off the marathon with the man show

                  THAT'S the name. Battle Bots.

                  I've never watched Comedy Central before, and when I started seeing previews of this "Man Show" I thought that maybe it would be worth checking out. And boy am I glad I did. Stinking hilarious!

                          A couple of guys that I used to work with used to build for Robot Wars, and now build bots for BattleBots. In fact one guy I used to work with is (or at least was, I haven't the show in a while) the heavyweight champ. He built Minion. I think his website is http://coolrobots.com/ he uses a C2 logo, it's based on his name, Christian Carlberg.

                          I don't even think he does fx anymore. I think he gets sponsorship for his bots now.

                              The problem with the heavyweights is the popularity of 'wedge' designs. Sure it's effecient, but I like arms with jackhammers on the end!

                                  Ah, BATTLEBOTS is the name of it. That show fucking rules!!! However I missed the episode where there was supposedly a robot whose primary weapon was some sort of flamethrower. Pretty tight shit those guys do if you ask me. It's usually on evenings on comedy central.
