This is just disgusting. At all levels.

The White House is actually telling people to ignore subpoenas. It's stunning.

The moment Trump is out of office they will throw the book at him.

Sure they will.

What other move do they have? Comply and possibly have all their dirty laundry air out in public? (and it's some dirty fucking laundry) If they just ignore the subpoenas and try to drag out the process, there's a hope they can cling to their tenuous grasp of power just long enough to possibly win the next election.

Then it's another 4 years of dodging bullets every day and running around like headless chickens with flaming tailfeathers trying to spin the shittiest news cycles known to human existence. At least Trump won't have to hear Don McGahn spilling all the fucked up shit Trump did and tried to make him do. It's one thing to have it printed in legalese where almost no one ever reads it, but it's a whole other to have it on TV. Cohen was the first shot. Can he survive another one of those public verbal stonings?

And there's so much more we would see that Trump doesn't want us to see if the IRS complied with the request from Congress. Or what about the security clearance thing? And there's got to be a whole bunch of other shit they'll cook their goose with if they comply.

Anyway, the choice to not comply is like choosing between jumping off a 300 foot cliff to save yourself from a pack hungry badgers, or facing the badgers and possibly survive.
