Under Obama, people here illegally were deported - more than under any other president. People who attempted to come here legally were treated with dignity and respect. This is the proper way to do things.

Under Trump people who try to come here legally are being locked up, and having their children separated from them. This is accomplishing nothing other than costing us more money, sucking down resources, and clogging up courts. Trump and his administration adopted a zero-tolerance policy which hoped to deter people from coming to the United States. It utterly failed. The Trump administration told all of South America that if they come to the United States, we will arrest them - which translates into we will house you, feed you, give you healthcare, and give you clothes while you wait for a court date which could take years. The more people heard this the more they came until our entire immigration system was overwhelmed.

This is exactly what happens when you have a incompetent administration in power.

What did you expect when you put a failed businessman and former game show host in the Oval Office.

The best part is building a wall won't even begin to fix this.

With that said.... Part of the job of the FDA and other branches of the government is to educate the public on how to get such benefits. There is a little loop hole where illegal immigrants can indirectly receive such benefits. Do you know how that is possible? Of course you don't.

This is a brilliant idea. And it would fix our problem quickly. However.... That's illegal. That's now how the law works. It would be a massive change to our asylum laws. In order for this to happen it would have to become law, meaning it would have to go through Congress. If Trump had enough intelligence to pay words with friends with my Black Lab, he would be trying to work with Congress on this. But being as Trump has done nothing by call them names, insult them, and now accuse them of treason..... That's not going to happen. He's never worked with Congress so why start now?

There wasn't a problem at the border until Trump took a hard line and promised to lock up illegals - giving them housing, food, clothing, and healthcare, and a chance to become a US citizen. At the same time, our immigration department is understaffed. Under Trump the immigration offices are understaffed (plus he closed over twenty foreign offices), Border Patrol is understaffed, as is customs.

This problem didn't exist under Obama. This problem didn't exist in Trump's first year. This problem was directly caused by Trump and his policies. Trump created this problem. Trump owns this problem.

And Trump's solution to the problem is to fire the Director of Homeland Security because she refused to break the law.

After three years in office Trump has zero political capital in Washington. So much for his negotiation skills.

This is an unmitigated disaster. Trump has been in office three years and accomplished nothing. Nothing at all. He hasn't fixed healthcare, the drug crisis, the middle east, the VA.... Not a single damn thing. After three years in office he STILL hasn't built a single section of wall. Instead, he claims a section of replacement wall funded by Obama is his wall. (And it's not even a wall, it's a fence.)
