    Trump fighting tax return request. What does he have to hide?

    Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump continues to hold his ground against Democratic efforts to obtain his tax returns, with one administration official telling CNN that the President and his team are willing to fight the House Democratic request all the way to the Supreme Court.

    "This is a hill and people would be willing to die on it," the official said.

    House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal formally requested six years of Trump's personal tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service in a letter Wednesday.
    The official added that the administration is "not going to set the precedent" of turning over tax returns for future occupants of the Oval Office, slamming the House Democrat request from Neal as "abuse and overreach by Congress" and asked what's stopping Senate
    Republicans from seeking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's returns.

    "They have zero right to it," the official said, who added Trump has also made it clear he's not releasing his tax returns.

                                                                                              Hell, there are a lot of jobs in the FBI, CIA, and other law enforcement where you have to get a credit check and divulge your financial information. The IRS is only interested in tax fraud. The IRS does not investigate bank fraud or insurance fraud. For example, the IRS does not say "Gee, you received $200k from your insurance company due to hurricane damage" and then investigate the insurance claim or the actual damage. The IRS just cares that the taxes were paid.

                                                                                                                                                                                  I would imagine this means they will either show he has significantly less money than he says he has, is paying very little in taxes, or he is up to his eyes in debt and may be in debt to some shady people.

                                                                                                                                                                                  Personally, I think it is one of the second two. If he is worth less, he could spin that and it's not that big of a deal. If he is in massive debt or paying very little or nothing in taxes is will make him look pretty bad and have people questioning his moves.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Personally i wouldn't have an issue if he paid little or no tax, provided it was done within the confines of the tax laws as they stand as the time of submission. All good business men / accountants would do this to the best of there ability. I mean why pay more than you need to. I know in my businesses my accountants both in the UK and USA work very hard to legally minimize my tax burden.

                                                                                                                                                                                      The bigger issue would be where his money comes from where he borrows money from and his total assets compared to his assets declared on his insurance and loans. This is where he would have issues ?
