How to be first to snatch up a expiring Domain ??
Hey gang,
I have my eye on a nice domain name that is expiring in the next few days, I would like to register it as soon as it becomes available assuming that the current registrar does not renew it's registration. Any tips on how to secure this domain the moment it is available, It is currently hosted with Go Daddy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ![]() ![]() |

Pay no attention to icann exp date.
Follow godaddy autions. But know that they have deals with other domain drop services. Some will bid on names of a certain grade no matter what, up to some level based on that grade. Bid what it is worth to you, no more. You better have a idea what that value is before you start. The original owner still has a grace period that he/she can pay a higher fee to keep it (something like $75-125) If you are going above this level, I would contact the owner if you can in this 'no published info' times anymore, and try to make a deal to prevent it from going to auction to the end. give'm $125-200. But you run the risk alerting him that it has dropped if he/she did not know. Sometimes domainers let them drop to see if there is any 'real' interest. And pay the fee to keep them, possibly get a 'real' good offer to sell. Couldn't tell you what the case is.... good luck. BTW... I do broker names if you need one. But a good drop can be tough for anyone. Use gfy contact info. If you tell me the name, I may be able to advise more. But I understand if that makes you feel a bit skidish. |
