:2cents So, do you consider multiple 3rd party processors on join pages as shaving?

I know I sure as hell do.

Especially when the "sponsor" in question does as much as possible to send the traffic to other affiliate programs or toplists, and usually popup to OTHER affiliate programs on the exit console.

Aside from helping customers who have been banned for charging back on one processor and letting them chargeback again via your "backup" processor, whats the overwhelming majority of excuses for this?

Hmmm...

I have sites with AC Pay and as they have no 900 or checking options I have to use Ibill for these options on the join page.

Seeing as most of the checks are NSF and no one knows if Ibill pays the 900 I don't think it gives me an advantage.

Having another CC option on the join page that affiliates are not credited for would be questionable tho.

I just love sponsors like Sexpromote.com that send most of their "international" join page hits directly to dialers - never paying affiliates a cent for those hahaha

As if there's no CC holding porn surfers in Japan, Germany, Italy etc etc...

It's quite common. Look at straponcash.com (strapon.com) - signup under jettis and the join page has 7 different processors, and only one is jettis.

Not to mention the front page sends off traffic to gamelink's vid shop and another toy shop.

So is this over the line, as far as affiliates should be concerned?

I signed up with a sponsor the other day that claims **unbeleivable ratios**. Pulled one of my links and tested it
It seems to me like they want to sell everything but their own shit. I guess the ratios are unbeliveable if you count second page hits. If someone is willing to close 10 popups to get into check out that site they must REALLY want to try it.

I consider shaving to be any means that a sponsor takes such that they receive income from my traffic and I am not compensated for. Whether it be they don't pay for check signups, redirect to a dialer for specific countries or otherwise (like exits). To a certain degree, every company out there does one or more of the above and it is needed to pay $35+ per signup really, just gotta find a sponsor where its within your tolerance level.

Agreed. It's a fine line beetween intentional and unintentional.

Anyone with a lot of quality traffic to convert is going to know what the sponsor is up to.

Whats the better way to run a program - work closely with a handfull of good webmasters who can make serious money or just burn countless newbies and people doing trial runs?

Exactly, I work VERY closely two of the larger sponsors where I send a majority of my traffic and we often customize my tour pages since we trust each other quite well and we're always looking for ways to tweak our traffic/conversions.

We pay for every type of signup including dialers, checks. Even if a user gets declined their info is put into the next processors form and webmasters still get credit. This is the way it should be.

Most revshare programs don't have traffic leaks as I described and its good to see there are programs like yourself giving as much credit to the webmaster as possible. I wish more per signup programs were like that.

I just signed up on your description of paying for all kinds sign ups.

I tried my referer code and when your exit panel came up the first site I clicked on was amateur pie. not one of your sites.

Since you did say you pay on all types of sign ups can you tell me how a signup for amamteur pie will appear in the stats.

thanks

Yup - CCBill programs can pull off the same thing with the &HTML modifier. If it looks sketchy I usually ask for clean pages with no links, popups. I'd say about %50 have agreed to do it so far.

Conversions go from about 1:800-1000 down to 1:180-250. Huge improvement. Sometimes you can't really find a recplacement site for your niche traffic so you have to make do.

We try to put as many of our sites in the exits as possible. The sites surfers click most are on the top and on the left bar which are all our sites. We also have an agreement with TopBucks/Platnium so we added some of their sites in there for a bit. We try our best to put our sites in there but there is other sites that help pay for our costs for paying 40 per signup. We do not have any popups when entering the sites and minimal popups when leaving. We try to give our webmasters credit for the most we can. If you have any more questions about this let me know.

Thanks,
Mark Erickson

I changed my affiliate program (StacyCash) over to a completly link free tour, no popups at all. I might be missing out on some money (my exit pop makes money with my sponser program) but I do save affilitates. Since I only use one processor, my affiliates get credit for every sale that they make.

I also have a program where my affiliates can control the exit pop on the 2nd page only. They just send me either the link or the console itself, i'll put it up and have them modify their link codes. It also gives me the chance to see what other site owners are doing with their traffic
