    Canon T7i or 80D?

Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these two cameras?
A friend is wondering if the extra $300ish is worth getting the 80D, even though ISO is about half as much as the T7i, and to me most other specs seem pretty identical.
Being rugged or size isn't an issue here, too.
Which one would you recommend for someone wanting a good camera, great night shots, and that would last about 5 years?

you mention night shots, the new fz1000 is meant to be the bomb, it´s not an SLR, and it´s mirrorless, but it´s 4k and has such a great lens with amazing ISO levels, it´s fstop is only 2.3 at bottom end though...

do check it out for the money you´re spending

The Canon T series has been great since the T1i; they are so easy to use. Depending on your end use of the equipment, the T7i could easily be the camera to get. Use the savings to buy a nice Sigma lens or something.

They might want to check out the review below. Biggest historical difference was the T series used a pentamirror viewfinder and the xxD series used an actual pentaprism (which is significantly better, with a larger, brighter image), and the xxD had better controls.

How about getting a second hand 5D Mark II instead? It is a nice full frame camera and such cameras with less than 50k shots should cost really reasonable. They can have at least 300k shots on average before being serviced. An f/2.8 lens (or f/1.8) would be necessary for decent low light shots.
Depending on what you are going to shot, if you want to go with prime lenses (much sharper than any zoom lenses), I would recommend the standard kit lens Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 - the famous "nifty fifty", which is a cheap lens, yet very sharp. an alternative is Canon EF f/2.8 40mm STM ("pancake"). Both lenses should be around $100 used.
