Chaturbate captcha on signup & drop in free regs?

Hey guys,

I can't help but notice that my regs on Chaturbate dropped drastically since yesterday or the day before. About 40 to 50% loss.

No change in the trafic acquisition, in fact, still have the same number, or even increasing number of unique hits in the stats.

I also noticed that it seems that the signup page now comes with a captcha V2. Was wondering if it was recent / could be the cause of a drop.

People hate Captcha and it does nothing to solve determined automation.

All Captcha is doing is Google outsourcing AI model training to millions of people while people who want to automate just outsource to DeathByCaptcha and get through anyway.

If Chaturbate have added Captcha then you will see a decline in free signups.

The only captcha I see on there is the "I'm not a robot" checkbox. That has been there for a really long time and is not new.

If you are seeing something else then I apologize for the interruption but if all you are seeing is the same as I am seeing that is nothing to worry about (imho) and should not be significantly affecting sign ups.

I wish LJ had this, the fake signups would decrease. I get bot signups by the hundreds a week, it just looks messy in the WL admin, and also hopeless in a way. No idea where they come from, besides it says USA, that's about it.

are you sure they are bots?

they might just be non paying subs ?

our chaturbate stats are still good and haven't dropped

Well yesterday was about back to almost normal. Could be another reason: I implemented unique tracker ID and it makes them long (sometimes > 30 caracters). Just a wild guess here.

it depends on your IP address...if you are trying to access from some "blacklisted" IP range you will get the annoying pics to fill in...

I get tons of these, on all clients their labels too.



Maybe it's not a bot, but it is kinda irritating to see. There is zero incentive to make multiple accounts cause the free promised credits are only added after a 1st purchase.

Just a heads up. Signups back to normal after delete the unique UID tarcking. Will figure out later why.

it depends on your IP address...if you are trying to access from some "blacklisted" IP range you will get the annoying pics to fill in...

i always get images :o
