Hunter who paid $110k to kill a rare moutain goat

A Texan big game trophy hunter faced backlash after he paid over $110,000 to kill a rare Himalayan mountain goat. Interestingly, the money was paid to authorities who oversee a state-run conservation program aimed at reducing poaching of the wild Astore Markhor, the national animal of Pakistan, which was endangered at one point.

Bryan Harlan wanted to hunt the rare screw-horn goat that resides in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of the northern Himalayas. In order to obtain a license for the same, he paid a sizeable amount to local authorities.

A very good friend of mine runs a little goat farm in my city, with ~30-40 goats. They live in perfect harmony with them, and make milk products / cheese from their milk. My kids love to visit their farm, and the other day we were out there to check out the baby goats born this winter.

An extra fun fact: my city is called 'Kecskemét' which is often translated as Goat City and the city has a goat in it's logo/sign (Kecske = goat)
