Critics have been left shaken after the world premiere of Leaving Neverland, with the documentary so sexually explicit counsellors were on hand to support the audience after the viewing.

On Friday the Sundance Film Festival premiered the controversial new documentary, which airs allegations of sexual abuse against Michael Jackson.

The four hour documentary, which was shown in two parts, detailed the accounts of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who both claim they were abused as boys by the singer.

People that backed him are backing away big time after watching it - I was hoping it was all BS...

Noy sure about that but im sure he used to beat and control him. Im a fan of Jackson but i do believe he did touch kids. If this movie does expose it 100% then its a shame he never faced proper justice when he was alive

I agree - but after watching several documentaries about murderer (male and female) and death row inmates etc there is like 99 out of 100 times something that happened during their childhood - physical and/or psychological abuse.

And Joe Jackson was a certified piece of shit.

I was lucky to grow up in the 80s and Jackson was a big part of that. Of course like 99.9% of everyone else I was a fan. It breaks my heart to hear all of this.

It's easy to say that he was setup and blackmailed (which might have been the case), but there just seems to be so much more to it. I never understood why successful people put themselves in positions to be blackmailed by some false allegation. I'm not saying that is what happened, but if I were worth a decent sum of money I damn sure would not allow myself to be alone with anyone that could later say I did this or that (especially someone's kid).

But if his actions were the result of a messed up father and abuse, then when does that end? I mean if a child or teen had behavior disorders due to abuse, we would all consider him/her a victim. But that messed up mind-set does not go away, even when the victim of abuse becomes an adult. It sadly follows them their whole life.

I'm not advocating for him at all, but it sucks that he will be remembered as a monster when (in a way) he was a victim too.

I've always been on the fence about MJ and these allegations. Its something I never wanted to believe.

On one hand, he was a very strange, odd, and twisted person. Its not difficult to put such allegations past such an individual.

One the other hand, he was very childlike and innocent, who happened to be sitting on millions of dollars. And he would very naively and constantly put himself in situations where opportunists could come out of the woodwork and use those situations against him.

His estate is still worth millions. And he's not around to defend himself anymore, which I suppose in theory could make receiving a hefty cash settlement easier.

As for the film, I have no interest in seeing it. Does the film maker possibly stand to gain from any future cash settlements from alleged victims? This could put a bias on the film that could make it far from accurate. Again, MJ isn't around anymore to defend himself.
