Wireless modem connection. It's a little bit faster than my cable modem I had before I moved. Good news to those living in the boonies. DirectTV will be coming out with 2-way satellite modems, something like 400kbs or something I forget. No phone lines needed... sweet in case anything happens to my wireless this will be my only alternative since I don't even have a phone line in yet (good old Qwest).

A question to those that use modem, how much does it cost per hour in your country?
Here in Sweden it cost around $1.50 during daytime and $0.75 during nights and weekends, you may get it some cents cheaper by changing ISP or phonecompany. To fucking expensive in my opinion.
pappa porr, i know how u feel about the whole fores thing, because so do i, no cable modems or dsl or isdn.. BUT i just got direcPC installed.. it sucks when it comes to uploading because it still uses the phone lines, but the downloading isnt that bad, about 100
MMMmm wish I could get cable but I,m still using 56k modem I looking into wireless but it's 80 bucks a month and thats download only you have to go the old 56k to upload. The Bloke at the satelite company reckons you can down load over 100mb per minute witch sound Impresive.
I have a cable modem here. I'm damn lucky to be able to get it around here. I don't think that I could live without it. I live in a pretty small area, but fortunately Charter Communications is in the area and they've brought it up here. I've had it for over a year now and like I say, this area is small. The closest city to me is Green Bay and that's 4 hours away from here and it's not that big of a city.
I feel sorry for all of your guys that don't have anything better than 56K in your area.
