Agree with what the writer said. It works in a perfect world which we don't live in. Why the UK government spent time and money bringing this legislation in, is anyone's guess. -
I wish they'd spend the money they do on these things by simply offering better and more freely available information for parents.Comment

'The privacy implications are mind-boggling – especially since, if MindGeek uses credit cards as the basis for AgeID, you're requiring people effectively to announce the fact they are looking at porn to the credit card companies.'
funny how the british would overlook thisComment

Will Mindgeek keep these details and sell the tool to others sites for them to keep. I'm happy with credit card companies knowing I bought porn, as if they didn't. But I don't trust that information in the hands of Mindgeek and other companies.'The privacy implications are mind-boggling – especially since, if MindGeek uses credit cards as the basis for AgeID, you're requiring people effectively to announce the fact they are looking at porn to the credit card companies.'

Mind you, in saying this I recently bought a PS4, games, clothing online and now being bombarded on Facebook with ads for PS4, Games and clothing.
We already have age ID based on credit cards, it's called buying porn. If Pornhub can't sell access for $1 a month or year. The free loader can fuck off. His data and ad buying is probably worth shit anyway. LOLComment

Making a program similar to Net Nanny can't be that hard. Then allow people to download it for free. Far better than this stupid law, far harder to get around and down to the individual to decide if he needs it. My daughter is 16, her friends are 15-17 and all are out doing it, not watching movies about it.Comment

I'm doing AgeID App installation on UK porn sites right now.
It's here, adapt or hire.

Why are some people obsessed with solutions that catch everything?
A program that scans a site for keywords and sets a limit on what is unacceptable or not is fine. Is better than nothing, this legislation or any other solution. This is without all the crap being put up every day to get a few clicks.Comment
