    How long has Reddit been Liberal Propaganda ?

    I had always assumed Reddit was a middle rider/neutral ground where folks were pretty savvy about MSM propaganda.

    But damn how it's taken a turn the past year... Constant front page ploys.

    I'm guessing ever since the Fake News expose that Share Blue and Media Matters have thrown millions into "online news/information" communities? A few Reddit threads (even liberal ones) seem to confirm it.

    Fuck.. Since when did liberals become the establishment? Weird things happening these days.. Thank Christ for the silent majority. Never seen liberals so pro corporate America in my life.

    Bring back the open minded truth seeking hippies who were breaking down the doors of perception! Or perhaps it's just the paid shills giving off a false impression..

              I don't think Reddit is necessarily pro-democrat. I think most of their users are simply anti-trump regardless of their political affiliations. Do keep in mind that Reddit is a global community and American politics is a huge topic of debate. Lots of people from outside the country are voicing their opinion.

                                  What you're describing based on your friends is whats called anecdotal evidence. Just because you and your friends view things a certain way (an echo chamber) it doesn't mean its representative of whats actually going on.

                                  I think what this presidency has done is bring to light a lot of fundamental issues with the current American political system. Even though its been labeled a "Republicans vs Liberals" battle, I think this is more of an issue with a clash of ideologies regardless of political affiliation. Lots of unspoken ethical rules are being broken in this presidency and this is waking up a lot of people to the realization that certain blatant abuses of power CAN happen and this needs to be addressed.

                                  Also, if you think that liberals are eating up propaganda, you should really step back and look at yourself long and hard in the mirror because you are victim of exactly the same thing. Both parties are being fed propaganda. There's no point in squabbling between which party is right and which is wrong here because, if you look at the current state of affairs: everybody is losing.

                                                              Yes, there are more liberals, no question, but you can just unsubscribe to those forums and you will rarely ever see things from them.

                                                                                                                                                              I don't know if it's just missing IQ or simple laziness to deal with the complexity of things and have to admit in the end that you simply can't know everything because your lifetime is too short.

                                                                                                                                                              At a certain point, this assumption of knowing everything runs in arrogance, and even if that person should realize that everything he knows is wrong or incomplete, there is no way back, because that way would lead back until the cradle.

                                                                                                                                                              So I don't see this as an "effect" but as an incurable and highly contagious disease because people are too easily willing to take on ready-made answers - because it is almost impossible to ever guess that they are wrong and because too many other idiots claim the same thing.

                                                                                                                                                                  I fundamentally believe that most people are about the same average intelligence. I define intelligence as the capacity to learn new things. Yes there are outliers (mental handicaps and savant geniuses), but the Bell curve remains the same in regards to intelligence.

                                                                                                                                                                  Where we all differ is the tools we have at our disposal to learn more and develop. People from poorer or religious parts of the country don't have access to the same amount of knowledge or tools to learn and grow as their counterparts.

                                                                                                                                                                  Add to that the completely different political bubbles people are raised in. Let's be honest. Those that have only Fox news or similar media outlets in their area exist in a completely different universe than the rest of the planet. That's not an opinion, that is fact. I understand why each party thinks the other party is compromised of weird thinking aliens. Their ideologies and upbringing are confusing to foreign and confusing to each other. This breeds fear.

                                                                                                                                                                  So, take a lack of tools to understand whats going on and a complete lack of exposure to certain information and you have a recipe for an extreme right wing (or left wing) person.

                                                                                                                                                                  So here comes this person, armed with inadequate educational tools and a one sided view of the world and they think they understand everything that is going around them. The truth is they simply don't have the skills to comprehend the bigger picture.

                                                                                                                                                                  This doesn't make them any less intelligent than anyone else. Anyone can keep learning if they keep a 100% objective and open mind towards the subject.

                                                                                                                                                                  Unfortunately, poor performers—and we are all poor performers at some things—fail to see the flaws in their thinking or the answers they lack. When we think we are at our best is sometimes when we are at our objective worst.
