That is a reason to love Australia. Have a great year, AdultKing !
Happy New Year CaptainHowdy! I just came back from town and there's a group of blokes at the pub who look like they've been there all night! Kangaroos out in full force this morning, almost took out a couple on the way into town. There's also a very big but dead snake hanging from a hook near the newsagents - wonder what the story there is?

Have a good New Year everyone. I started 2019 well and have a headache to prove it...
I don't like cities anymore, Sydney & Melbourne are bursting at the seams without enough infrastructure to handle it. It takes an hour to get anywhere by car at the best of times.
The pictures are just screen captures from television.
I watched them from my balcony, beer and joint in hand then kissed the cat and come inside … wooo ismeh!
Tip: Don't go anywhere on NYE unless you can walk to and from the event.
Sydney is no fucking exception, there's plenty of hotels in the city if you book far enough out.,, Stay where your going to party or get on your boat, makes life easy...

The biggest event for us was half our town (literally) at the pub. I dunno how hot it was in Sydney but it was still high 30s here at dark, so leaving the comfort of air conditioning and risking hitting a kangaroo to go to a crowded pub was easy to pass up

nothing wrong with that man, I've spent many a NYE in country pub, I'm from small town NZ.
It was warm enough here, except about 7pm there was a huge lightning rain storm and rain torrents, that cleared by 9pm, anyone waiting in open was drenched, anyone coming in to city was stuffed as lightning knocked out trains
.. goes back to if you can't walk there.. don't go, two nye in a row in the early 2000's I ended up walking home from KingsX which for me is like 15-20 miles. No taxi's no public transport, annihilated drunk at 5am trying to get home on NYE...
