Anybody here get traffic from Reddit?

    How well does it convert?

Do you 'layer' your traffic? ie., Reddit-specific/reddit-friendly Layer 1 > more raunchy topics> conversion page (review /'profile')

I run subreddits on there, but I honestly had better traffic from someone submitting my own stuff to another subreddit. Spiked my traffic 1k a day for a few days.

The ones I run, barely get any traffic but some - whether it converts or not I'm not entirely sure. All I know is more traffic is good, targeted traffic is better.

I get sales from reddit, not anywhere near what seo, or affiliate traffic does, but well enough that it's worth posting.

I used to. Would get some good traffic. Moved to other things. Though, the traffic was terrible for conversions (in my case).

My first foray into adult was posting links to embedded videos on niche porn subreddits. I'd have the embedded video (from pornhub or xhamster) on a CJ tube or a blog, with some exoclick banners and pops. Made a couple bucks a day doing it.

Who knows if that traffic actually converted for advertisers but I seriously doubt it. I've read PPC guys saying, stay far away from advertising on reddit, because the traffic is weird and won't convert in most verticals.

Using a sales funnel (what you're calling "layering") would definitely be smart, because redditors are very internet-savvy and hate advertising. They'll blow up your comment section and downvote your posts if they think you're posting for marketing purposes.

It does not convert well for adult (but I have a different experience for small mainstream niche sites), but it can be good for branding.

I have a 300k user sub that I took over with 2k users. I dont actively market it, because it's easy to get banned for that stuff but I do some Amazon sales from it and it does good for that.

Reddit traffic does not convert well, but I wouldn't forsake it. Just like other social media, look at it more for branding and fan outreach than making quick sales.

By SEO are you talking about automated pages that plugin your keyword to match surfers' search terms? I gotta hand it to the dudes that make those.

Considering how targeted reddit can be, I'm always surprised at how poorly it converts.

Tech savvy group of surfers that are pretty good at finding free porn, so yes they are a little harder to convert, but if you have something they want that they can't find for free then they do buy

I had fairly good conversions from Reddit. The problem is it's so easy to spend a lot of effort building up a subreddit only for it to get banned over some stupid reason (in my case, apparently because I didn't open a message, 'proving' that I was a spammer). Also, Reddit allows the subreddit to be taken over (eventually anyway) by somebody else. I'm sure one of mine, that was actually high up in Google, had a malicious complaint by a rival, and not only was the subreddit locked but my profile was banned (and they do ip banning now). A couple of months later I saw that my subreddit, that I had put a lot of effort into promoting, had been taken over by a rival.
