    What happened to the migrant caravan?

    What happened to the migrant caravan? Supposedly they were going to just red rover their way in... but they didn't. Same as the years before. They didn't get in. They are not getting in. They were never going to get in.

    How much did we spend?

    And it did nothing for Trump and the midterms. Trump is a complete failure.

                                              Way more came in since the caravan arrived than the population of the caravan. Caravan was just a bunch of unwitting people duped into a media stunt to deflect from Trump's legal situations. It didn't work. Meanwhile, the caravanners are waiting by the border for legal asylum paperwork while legally working in Mexico with visas.

                                                                                      Yes prior Presidents have done the same. And it was wrong when they did it too. It was a massive waste of money, and the troops end up in minor support roles dealing with garbage and cleaning up horse stalls.

                                                                                      But there is a huge difference. Prior Presidents did not have a huge anti immigration platform, and at the same time proper did their job with deporting illegals and did so with dignity instead of setting up prison camps for children.

                                                                                      At the same time, while there is a lot of talk about ICE the truth is the Trump administration is failing to handle the illegal immigration system properly. The US Border Patrol here is the key to the problem, it's understaffed and not working properly. The Trump administration is spending a lot of money to fix the problem without any results:

                                                                                                                  In the past when illegals were found in the country they were given a court date, and it was handled through the legal system. This worked - Something like 98% of people showed up for their court dates, and either worked on becoming a US citizen or were deported.

                                                                                                                  ICE, on the other hand, was set up for "identifying and eliminating border, economic, transportation, and infrastructure security vulnerabilities". They also have "special response teams" for some cases where they need to arrest hardened criminals who have committed serious crimes such as murder, robbery, and rape. Instead, these SRTs are now working on routine enforcement. They are arresting people at schools and hospitals. This is the equivalent of sending in the FBI into your work place and dragging you out by force in handcuffs because you got a traffic ticket.

                                                                                                                  This is a waste of time, money, and effort. We are dedicating a team of officers - up to a dozen - to track and arrest a single person.

There are a couple Dems who would like that to happen, but the rest that have talked about ICE say it is being mismanaged. Even people in ICE believe it is being mismanaged and not being used effectively.
