Looks nice, but honestly a 800HP electric car with 2 tons or more is far worse for the enviroment than a 10 year old car with 100HP and a plain combustion engine.
And if the electricity comes from burning fossil fuel it's even worse.

That's not green, that's a waste of resources....
I'm hoping power will mainly come from Solar . I know if i get one i will have extra panels installed to compensate for my extra electrical requirements.

Then it would be fine, but at the moment I guess you'd need ~100m² (1100sqft) solar panels for ~15000km (10000mi) per year.
Generally we should rather try to reduce the size of our cars if we want to do something for the enviroment.
Double the weight means twice as much energy is needed, twice as much energy means twice as much CO2 (if electricity still comes from fossil fuels).
There's no need to carry 2.5 tons of steel around if you just want to go shopping

exactly this...
all these negative people stating the fossil fuels, that´s the next change, the coal mining will stop & so will all the other fossil fuels.
Wind, water & sun energy will be the final results, maybe 2030 but it will happen & that means, the more people purchasing electric vehicles now, the change will happen faster :thumsbup
I love the side cubbies thar you can put your surfboard and stuff in so much hidden space!
not sure you could fit a big surfboard in the cuddie, the width isn´t exactly 3mtr, but still worthy of lots of equipment and besides, surfboards can go from back to front on the roof

I suspect a lot of the weight is made up from the battery pack but i suppose the body chassis could be made from Carbon Fiber or even Graphene when it become commercially viable. I also noticed they make an SUV with similar specs for $72,000

When we went to America we were shocked by the number of people driving huge vehicles, carrying 1/2 people. It's an American obsession to buy to impress and not for the purpose intended. In Europe people buy for the purpose and not to impress.
90% of the time all most people need are a small or medium size car.
And before you say "It will cost more". Think of the costs of not going green. It's time for governments to stop listening to big business and listen to the scientists. Coal miners would be over the moon to lose their mines if you gave them work creating Wind Turbines and Solar Panels.
