    Little monster

So the other night I'm driving home and this little fur-ball speed-limps/lopes across the road in front of me and into the ditch. By the way he was hobbling, I'm thinking he's been hit and has a broken leg so I stop and he stops and we look at each other. I put on my flashers and get out and when I approach he hops deeper into the tall grass and turns and meows at me. We do this a couple of times and I'm deep in the wet tall grass now and I'm wearing shorts and sandals. I crouch down and he turns and comes right to me so I scoop him up and carry him to the car. In the car I can smell the funk, and once we're home I see the blood on my shorts where he rode in my lap. I call the vet and leave a message that I'll be bringing him in the next morning.

I won't gross you out with pics of the wounds, but he had a DEEP laceration (tendons were cut) on a hind leg, and a serious abrasion on a front leg. That's in addition to an upper respiratory infection and ear mites. But with a slew of medicines, everything is healing nicely.

So far, I've spent $1K, and he hasn't even had all his shots or been fixed yet. I wasn't looking for another cat (I have 2 brother cats already) but he has decided that I belong to him, so I guess I now have three. He's in my lap snoring as I post this.

Anyway, with all the political/negative posts here, I wanted to share this little bit of joy.

    You, are awesome!

I absolutely love cats and would have done the same thing. That little guy will be the best. Please share more pics and let us know how he's doing!

Best thing about your new friend is that you can let him poo in your house and its socially acceptable

One of reasons cats are so awesome: All you have to do is show them the litter box one time, and then they know that's where to go. "Accidents" are usually their way of showing their displeasure - either with you, or that they aren't feeling well.

We had a cat you would have loved: She was indoor/outdoor and although she would be outside she would come to the door and cry just to be let in to use the box, and then would want to go back out.

Maybe it belongs to some kid and that kid cries them self to sleep each night wondering where their best friend has gone.

And maybe that kid's parents should have put up flyers or checked with the local vets and spca as I did.

But thanks for trying to put a negative spin on it. Just what this place needs more of.

              Excellent. Here's an idea...

Why not put a tray in every room so you don't miss out on the aroma?

              I would
