    Business Any suggestion for a new story site?

    It's been years since my last website. So it's time to learn some new tricks. I started a new story site: libraryerotica.com Right now I am just contacting authors for permission to post their stories.

    So how do I start from scratch with just one site? I suppose SEO is still important. Link trade? How to find sites willing to trade with new site? I also heard using twitter, facebook, reddit, tumblr. I can see those work for vid / pic sites. Need to figure out how to work them for story site.

    Any suggestion is appreciated

      Forgive my ignorance but I never could understand how all the story sites monetize their traffic ?? I would think that with all the text that Google would love sites like yours, and when you hook someone in, they could stay there for hours and read, so again lot's of Google love because of "time on site" and low bounce rate.

      With reddit & tumblr I could see you getting traffic if you can find a picture to go along with the storyline and then you could post the pic, along with a couple of sentences of the story with a ... to read more here type of link

                  Thanks for the suggestion. In term of monetizing, I don't think it's much different than other kind of sites. The ad click through rate was about 1:100-200, then another similar ratio for signups. So you are looking at 10k-40k visitors per signup. With right niche (dating site was very good), the ratio can be 10x better. Again, that was 10+ years ago. I am sure an experienced admin can do better than that.
