If your mythical Blue Wave happens on election day, I'll let you gloat all you want about it and I'll leave GFY permanently.

If it doesn't happen and the Republicans keep control of the senate and house, then YOU leave GFY permanently.

Anything else is a draw.

I dont think the Dems will take the Senate anyway, the the seats up for re-election strongly favor Republicans and the gerrymandering hinders Democrats too much at this point. It will probably be 2024 before Democrats can have a "fair" shot at the Senate due to the current levels of gerrymandering in key states..

The house on the other hand is up for grabs, but even that will not be a cake walk, because Republicans cheat as we see currently in Georgia, Florida, South Dakota, South/North Carolina and other states that Republicans have illegally stolden people's rights to vote in order to rig their state's elections..

So why would I make a bet on a rigged system?

The real question, is how can you call yourself an American if you support a political party that has cheated elections in the past and is currently cheating this election as well as using their power of corruption to illegally remove people's abilty to vote? Seems more like you support dictatorship than demoracy..

How does gerrymandering affect Senate races? They are state wide popular vote races. How the districts are drawn makes no difference.

Yeah, I misspoke on gerrymandering on Senate but gerrymandering does affect the House, but it's more about the closing of polling offices in high population areas specifically trying to stop minorities from voting and the voting purges.

In South Dakota as another example American Indians can't get voter ID cards because the state wont accept PO boxes as legit addresses.. Meanwhile that's how addresses are on reservations and have been for years but suddenly it's not legal..

Gerrymandering, for sure, has a major effect on the house. I agree that the voter suppression by the right is the big one when it comes to the Senate. There are likely going to be several senate races that are very close so a little voter suppression could absolutely effect the outcome.

Yes this is why Id be more surprised by Democrats winning the Senate than not. I think it will be 2024 before Democrats have a solid chance at the Senate unless voter turn out is just overwhelming.

The House is a lot more likely, but again its not certain due to the voter purges and other cheating Republicans have done. However I think Democrats have a reasonable chance at the House but in all honesty if it wasn't for Republicans being traitorous fucks it would be a 100% shoe in on Dems taking the House..

The ONLY reason there is any question at all on tne House is because its impossible to know how much the cheating of our election process will harm the Democrats..

Keep in mind....democrats only need to take the House to have a guardrail against Trump. They can start a bunch of investigations but they won't go anywhere...and they can't really stop him from starting a war unless they have the Senate.

But at least Trump won't be able to wreak havoc on our country and the world unimpeded, as he is now.

I am about 80% sure that the Democrats will take back that House but I think they only have about a 15-20% chance of taking back the Senate.

Midterms are all about turnout and Democrats are angry and motivated, and they turned out in droves for the primaries. I think Trump has done a good job of scaring his base into action so I think there will be a good Republican turnout so I don't think there will be a massive blue wave, but I think they will get control of the House.

I wouldn't hold too much stock in someone questioning your honour, its generally just people reacting at the emotional level and grouping you into what others are doing. There is a lot of that going around unfortunately, it's even taken grasp of some of our more intelligent posters here it would seem...

The bet is unnecessary and it doesn't work either as the results can be completely subjective. If they win just enough seats to get the majority back is that a 'blue wave'? not really, but it would be a huge leap of change. So just about any realistic result will be subjective by either side. I think we would all be shocked if it was flood gates for one side or the other honestly.

More importantly, neither of you should leave. I disagree with most things he says and a handful you do lately, but this place doesnt' get better with one of you gone. I wouldn't say that about anyone here, as some are just terrible and serve no purpose or contribute in any way other than troll but I'm sure both of you have plenty to say that others would benefit from hearing from time to time.
