yeah but a company such as LSC shouldn't be reselling it's affiliates' email addresses, that's a bunch of shit.

I got it too, I doubt it was Lightspeed who would sell it / use it like this, no way would he risk his company's reputation for a spammer.

you don't get it.

that alias at my domain is unique for LSC only. so someone had to get my email from LSC.

sure, i bet people out there spoof emails all the time, but they can't send me an email to a mailbox they have no clue exists.

All it takes is one spammer to get a hold of your email address, as soon as a spammer has you it is disturbuted in chain reaction. I have inboxes that are 90% spam. Sometimes I get the same spam 50 times because they trade and add to the list with my name on it more then ounce.

Why don't you post the spam you get from hundreds of other programs every day?

because i don't get any spams, i would report any from unique program aliases i have setup as i get them.

i bet you think i'm one of those anti-LSC people or some shit. i'm not.

i'd post any company that appeared to be selling my shit. the only reason this got through my spam filter is because i have that alias as whitelisted because of the fact it should only receive emails from LSC.

and no kenny, no other spammers have got ahold of this email alias. there's no possible way. the only way they'd verify if it was legit or not is being given it verbatim from the program i have given it to.

hell i'm not even an active LSC affiliate i don't know if i've ever sold anything for them, but i have an account with them...

just playing devil's advocate... but maybe they sell off emails of their webmasters who don't make them much money. i don't think i've ever made a dime for LSC, so it would be in their interest to sell my name for anything more than $0 and make a profit off me.

not saying they did, but anything is more than $0

either way they have expressed interest in an affiliate program, so maybe anything you've done thus far doesnt fit their fancy, you still have the power of persuasion over them... shrug... also i guess one could look at the program on a case by case and just do the projected math and realize lightspeed is growing and has grown an a tremendous rate and has no need for smalltime dealings like selling their shitlist for a couple G's =)

making a few G's off nonprofitable people is $4000 more than you had.

could pay some server bills per month. any money is good money, especially in a shitty economy and fluxuating porn interest.

you've got too much spare time, to actively create alias's incase people sell your email.

Looks like you're looking to play the police, not just be innocent bystander.

Either way, I dont give a flyin fuck

Those spammers will figure out how to get around the spam blocks. In some of my inboxes I get back bounced e-mails from where I tried to mail a virus to a invailed address. I am not the one doing it, and I can only imagine how many of these virus e-mails actually get out.
None of my e-mails are spam virgins, they all get raped. No matter how hard I try.

NO I don't want your fucking grand prize
NO I don't want to join your program
NO I don't need a morgage loan
NO I don't need debt consilation
NO I don't want to see your fucking webcam
NO I don't want to buy pay perclick listings

It seems like if they were sneaky enough to only sell off the low end webmasters, they'd also smart enough to remove any that contained "lightspeed" in them...

I have a Lightspeed account and we didn't get that spam. Maybe the guy just made a mistake and signed up with the wrong address?

uh, all my aliases go to the same mailbox. i do it so i can shut off resold addresses easily, thanks.

and no, i'm not playing cop or anything. i simply think it's pathetic when companies so active in the whole industry (i mean hell even steve posts on GFY and sees all the complaints) have shit like this happen.

if you want i could complain about all the other dumb shit going on. not just about some bigger company oddities.

obviously i know this. but i have also whitelisted that alias to get the emails to pass through without spam checking, because an alias like that should never be resold (or randomly discovered as some people seem to suggest)

Me and Scooby Doo have solved this mystery.... with the help of a scoobysnack or two...

One time last year we accidentally sent out an affiliate newsletter with all our affiliates listed in the cc: box instead of the bcc: box.

So about 2000 of our affiliates got that address, looks like one of them finally used it.

(...and he would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!)

As I recall Vivid did this by accident sometime last year as well. Maybe this is how the whole swoit fiasco began as well.
