U.S. says Canada cares too much about liberties

We will keep our freedoms, Thank You very much!!!

"The same report took issue with Canada's move to make possession of small amounts of marijuana a ticketing offence rather than a criminal one. "This will not only harm Canadian society, but have consequences for the United States as well," the report said."
How in hell would the bill to decriminalize marijuana harm the US??

The US still classifies marijuana as a class 1 narcotic, aka, same class of crack and herion. If we give people tickets for having an Oz. on them and no criminal record, it will look bad for them sending people away for 5-10 years for the same thing.

It would be more believable if they had a link to the report they are citing. They don't supply any specifics just general reporting. They only quoted Powel in his accessment of terror attacks from 2001, to 2002.

As for pot. It's none of the US's business what Canada makes legal or illegal.

We GOTTA get the Repub's out next time. While I was with Dubya on the war, I admit our approach to drugs (and porn) sucks The Big Hairy Pickle. Before long, if all the laws the Republican nutzos would like were enforced, there'd be more people in jail than out of it.

'March 22nd marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the report of the so-called "Shafer Commission" -- the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse -- whose members were appointed by then-President Richard Nixon. The Shafer Commission's (named after commission Chair, Gov. Raymond Shafer of Pennsylvania) 1972 report, entitled "Marihuana: A Signal of Misunderstanding," boldly proclaimed that "neither the marihuana user nor the drug itself can be said to constitute a danger to public safety" and recommended Congress and state legislatures decriminalize the use and casual distribution of marijuana for personal use...'

It's called freedom, not just the illusion of freedom like in the USA. I'll bet they're going to put trade sanctions on us because of the pot thing, and that's such bullshit. We're a different country, go fuck yourself George W, we make our own laws.
