upholding the law as it is written is not a matter of "policy" it's the very obligation of our government and law enforcement agencies. and the laws as they are written require parents to be separated from their children while being processed. Obama, as in so many areas relating to immigration decided to pick and choose which parts of immigration law to uphold and which to ignore and he created a massive immigration crisis... and this is one issue Democrats just never want to stop. afterall, why stop future voters at the border.

Here is the best part.... The executive order he just signed most likely comes into direct conflict with US law - the Flores v. Reno, or the “Flores settlement".

The Flores settlement requires the federal government to do two things: to place children with a close relative or family friend “without unnecessary delay,” rather than keeping them in custody; and to keep immigrant children who are in custody in the “least restrictive conditions” possible.

This entire incident is typical of the Trump administration. Instead of doing things rationally and intelligently, they pulled the trigger without any thought or planning. The Trump administration caused this problem with their "zero tolerance" policy they announced just recently. There was zero thought put into this. Didn't it occur to anyone at the Justice Department that their "zero tolerance" policy would not only make the number of people we have to place in jails skyrocket, but also would cause problems with children?

Then Trump told us his "hands were tied" and it was "up to the Democrats" to fix this. Bullshit. This was - obviously - a lie. His hands weren't tied, it wasn't up to the Democrats; He fixed this with a single signature.

At the very same time, he made the problem even worse. What he just did runs afoul of Flores v. Reno, and we are STILL locking up innocent kids. This problem isn't going to go away - there is a huge spot light on it. Next week it will be video footage of babies in jails with their mothers, and the week after that it will be kids being molested because the US government has to scramble to come up with solutions.

This President has accomplished nothing (except for pissing off all of our allies). Today at the signing of this order Trump said he "fixed the North Korea problem, and also Iran". No, he has not. Nothing has changed with North Korea - they still have nuclear weapons and haven't even committed to anything - and nothing has changed with Iran either.... The original agreement is still in place, but now we are not a part of it and we are the only nation in violation of the agreement. The VA still isn't fixed either, Chicago still has it's problems, and the only reason we haven't had a school shooting this week is because school is out.

The best part is Jared and his "Middle East plan". Jared is in the Middle East and just got laughed at, mostly because no one in the Middle East can take the US seriously after moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. No one in the Middle East takes any US solution seriously now.
