Business Pornhub: We are launching a new way to sell videos

Pornhub: We built you a video-on-demand platform

Apologies if this has already been posted. This has been predicted for quite some time - after the tubes established themselves they'd need new content. Is this a best case scenario or a bad thing?

    "You asked. We listened.

You’ve been looking for more ways to sell and monetize your content. You’re sick of having 20 different profiles on 20 different sites, and trying to keep everything organized. And you need a platform that supports you every step of your career, whether that’s helping you promote your content, or offering the best, most responsive customer support in the game.

That’s why we are launching an all new video-on-demand site, designed with you in mind, powered by the biggest adult network on earth. It’s seamlessly integrated with Pornhub, and you can use the profile you already have to get started.

Now you can sell your videos to our billions of visitors, all from the same platform you’re used to. You don’t need a new account, or any special info. You don’t need to code your own profile.

All you gotta do is set the Privacy Settings to “For sale” when you upload your next video. It’ll automatically go up for sale once the new platform is live and users can start purchasing your exclusive videos. "

They already pay amateur models for uploads (views) + they have been running pay per view for years for professional studios. This is probably just a clip selling platform if I am correct ? .. so you pay to view a scene.. Xhamster already does that.
    no sig, sorry

They have a pattern to calculate the payout, it is worth a try if you have a lot of scenes and upload several per month. The good thing is that you don't need to sell anything, it's just views + you still can promote your paysite.

Why would anyone be trust a company that redirects surfers to virus ads and accepts stolen cintrnt on their platform?

Don't trust sites that accept stolen content and redirects surfers to viruses. Sites that screw surfers & content creators are the last people you should sell content with because you don't know if they're lying to you about the number of sales that you've had and they will host your stolen content just like they do everyone else's. They don't got your back and they won't give you special treatment.

OK I read all of the negative stuff above. Yet I am still interested in your VOD... ( we are your content partners for a few years)... Lets say we go for your VOD at 90 minute movies...So, here are my questions.( Not answered on your link):

                1) who sets the price of a single VOD ?
                2) can we chose rent or buy option??
                3) what is the portion of pay out vs you keep... ?
                4) do you provide any advertsing support or is it based on popularity ? Or there is NONE.

If you want to compete with iTunes, Amazon or Netflix for the adult business those are the basics you should post...it should NOT be a secret..

FYI we sold our content to all listed above...

I wish I could be this confident about not working with them. On the surface (I know) it seems a reasonable platform for monetizing. What do you suggest is the best way to monetize without engaging the massive traffic of self identified consumers they have with *no signup required*? As the free model gains wider acceptance, you're selling memberships for them, but at least you're getting paid. Pathetic? I guess, but no one is coming on here with a better store model or a white coat tube.

Everybody could make more money if we went back to the old way of selling videos.
Which was simply to sell them instead of giving them all away for free and then trying to sell it.

Which was simply to sell them instead of giving them all away for free and then trying to sell it.

Actually a very wise comment.... Content needs to be created, not just stolen and then recycled over 1000s of tubes.
