My friends have left. They live here in the states now. They describe how everyone is grumpy all the time. Corruption is rampant. The most recent one came two years ago and love it here. So maybe the last two years have seen nice changes. I just know he hated Moscow and couldn’t wait to leave.

This is all second hand info from people who have left. Obviously, those who live there have a reason to stay. I can see where my data points are skewed. They are just so adamant about it.

The States are not better than Russia at all. Just go out of NYC/Boston/Chicago and look how the regular citizen lives in the States. No need to visit Louisiana or Arkansas. Even in Vegas, just go off the Strip and look around.

P.S. I've been to many places and Moscow is the best one I know (and not from some second hand like you). Yes, there is a lot of corruption (if you don't want to give a bribe, just don't suggest it like me - I never did that for all my life), but there is no stupid restrictions like in the USA (this you can't, that you don't, etc...), no crazy taxes, the women here are real hot, the police here - yes, it's corrupted, but it doesn't shoot at your pets and at you for no reason, there are no paper houses, no hurricanes and no Dorothy with Toto.

I have lived in the US my whole life. I have a second home in Rio de Janeiro. So I get the freedom thing. I also understand corruption.
