Cloaked Links in signatures. Why?

Those of you who cloak your signature links with link shorteners, etc. May I ask why?

If you have a legitimate link that would interest someone on the board why would you hide it.

1. It makes you look scammy as fuck.

2. Adblockers often block cloaked links so your intended audience never gets to see your produt.

Just wondering what you think you are gaining by cloaking your link.

A fun fact: Adblocker blocks the redirect in your sig. So you are probably counting clicks at dbs that are not making it to Chaturbate.

On #2 - I probably should have asked "Why the BLIND cloaked links?". I understand wht you might want to redirect to a sponsor as you illustrated. I do the same thing sometimes.

It is the completely blind, or misrepresented, cloaked links that I wonder about.

Link shorteners and cloaking are totally different things. Cloaking lets people believe you are going to page A while you are going to page B or they present a different page's content instead of what is actually present on a page.
