So far in 2018, a member of the military has been about 40 times as likely to be killed as someone is to die in a school shooting..Earn Recurring Money with ➜ Live Adult Webcams | CrakRevenue | Dream Cash

I think not. The country will not amend the 2nd Amendment at this point and probably never will, so until then there will be an NRA. There are other things that can be done to protect schools though and there are other things that can be done in the mental illness area also. These things will cost money and until congress gets serious about this matter and appropriates the monies there will not be much done, but the shootings are taking place so frequently hopefully they will wake up and do their job.Comment

this article highlights some news that reflects my view. Also, gen z will be voting age in 2020, they're sick of getting shot up at school and are already politically active and getting more so.

I don’t think we need an amendment. There is wiggle room to regulate the bearing of arms. We have successfully done it in some states.I think not. Not in any states that I am aware of. Guns are legal to own and to carry, if one wants to go thru the trouble to get a CC permit, in every state in the union.
A few states have varying limitations upon the sale of and design of so called "assault rifles" which they are not in the first place. They are just a semi automatic rife like any other semi automatic weapon designed to appear like actual military assault rifles.
There is not a ban in any state on the sale of semi automatic weapons to my knowledge. There are bans on the number of rounds that may be carried in a magazine/clip but that is not really a big deal.
Cosmetic restrictions and/or magazine size does not make a big difference in practice and are mostly "feel good" restrictions.Comment

"California defines an “assault weapon” as any semi-automatic, centerfire rifle or semi-automatic pistol that lacks a fixed magazine and has one of a number of features that include a protruding pistol grip or a folding or telescoping stock. Not in any states that I am aware of. In 2016, California’s already-tough gun laws got tougher when lawmakers passed a bill that sought to ban the sale of guns with so-called “bullet buttons” that gun-control activists said circumvented a law banning assault weapons. "Comment

Yeah we have a whole generation of kids now that grew up scared they're going to be shot in school and they will not vote for that to continue for their children they will change this and they will vote everyone out of office who refuses to do so.
The last couple years the NRA has turned into a criminal organization they are like fucking far-right and political way more than they ever were before especially with that bitch they have on TV looks like a worn-out hooker talking down to kids that just witnessed friends get shot in school it's fucking bizarre what they're doing.Comment

All of that applies to so called "assault rifles" The sale of semi automatic rifles/pistols are not banned. The changes made to so called "assault weapons" do admittedly reduce the rate of fire to some extent but not enough to reduce mass shootings.
Charles Whitman 52 years ago killed and wounded 47 people and did the bulk of the killing, if not all, with a bolt action rifle that only holds 4 or 5 rounds in an internal magazine. He did have other weapons with him including a semi auto M1-Carbine that was once an actual military weapon.
A friend of mine once said that people should be glad that shooters use so called "assault rifles" instead of an actual high powered bolt action rifle that is deadly accurate and has tremendous killing power. There is much truth to that statement.Comment

I agree, assault weapons are a small part of the problem. although the tragic use of them in school shootings is horrific. All of that applies to so called "assault rifles" The sale of semi automatic rifles/pistols are not banned. could you imagine having to go to school with that on your mind? It most certainly is having an effect on the upcoming voting group, I agree.Yeah we have a whole generation of kids now that grew up scared they're going to be shot in school and they will not vote for that to continue for their children they will change this and they will vote everyone out of office who refuses to do so.

a ban just drives up the price. for someone that wants a gun hell you can print one! they hold up nicely. i even seen printed assault rifles with a 75 round drum. they fire and hold up. you can't ban shit! get to the real problem. kids are having issues and there is nobody there to help them through their issues. that white kid that killed his mom and those kids. his mother kept him away from his father. he did not abuse him she was just being evil."California defines an “assault weapon” as any semi-automatic, centerfire rifle or semi-automatic pistol that lacks a fixed magazine and has one of a number of features that include a protruding pistol grip or a folding or telescoping stock.

i tend to agree. All of the assault weapon shootings in California prove the bans don't work on kids or adults.a ban just drives up the price. for someone that wants a gun hell you can print one! they hold up nicely. i even seen printed assault rifles with a 75 round drum. they fire and hold up. you can't ban shit! get to the real problem. kids are having issues and there is nobody there to help them through their issues. that white kid that killed his mom and those kids. his mother kept him away from his father. he did not abuse him she was just being evil.

My children are all learning to handle all sorts of firearms. And from the looks of the classes they are in, I’d have to say that Gen X being of voting age doesn’t have much to do with anything and it won’t.that's your opinion, thank you for sharing.

you're right, there are groups of upcoming voters who believe in firearms, i've read about them. I respect their views, and applaud their participation in the democratic process. I do think the anti-gun violence group will be a bigger voting block but I don't have anything to base that on, it's my gut feeling on the matter.Comment

Every kid should be familiar with guns, and he/she just has to be taught to never use them against civilians. I was trained to shoot with guns from about 10 year old (I started with a .22 LR pistol), and the fist thing I've got: never aim a gun to a human even if you think your gun is not loaded up and there is no cartridge in the barrel.

times are changing...............
"The pace of new voter registrations among young people in crucial states is accelerating, a signal that school shootings this year — and the anger and political organizing in their wake — may prove to be more than ephemeral displays of activism.
They could even help shape the outcome of the midterm elections. If voters in their teens and 20s vote in greater numbers than usual, as many promised during nationwide marches for gun control this spring, the groundswell could affect close races in key states like Arizona and Florida, where there will be competitive races for governor, the Senate and a number of House districts in November."
