    Browser start up page..

    Just noticed my browser start up page
    changed again.How those assholes do it?
    Happens to me very often lately.

              Well, it can't be all that hard, It seems everytime i load a new program, they automatically put their start page into my browser...

                  I've seen a new(?) type of cookie being used by porn AND non-porn sites. It's some sort of doo-hickey that automatically sends you to a specific page with popups everytime you start a browser.

                  And NO, it's not just the default page setting for the browser. I checked that first.

                  Took me a while to track the fucker down, but Froggy prevailed.

                  As fo the problem you described, a simple javascript can change your default start page. Annoying as all hell, but isn't that half the fun?

                      I don't know if it's Javascript that automatically does it. I think JS prompts you for a change. I think what's doing it is some plug-ins like when you get a Porncity 404 and it's prompts you for a "browser enhancement" plug-in.
