the original predator was so kick ass that it will be very very hard to make a movie that even comes close...I saw the trailer of the new one and I am like "meh"...

I was underwhelmed by that paint by numbers trailer. I was not whelmed whatsoever.
The orginal Predator was lightining in a bottle. You had that amazing cast lead by Arnold in his prime. The natural commeradery between soldiers of fortune. The director of Die Hard. The music by Alan Silverstri . The brilliantly staged action scenes. The fucking minigun scene. Now we have....this movie starring some guy and Olivia Munn.
I was watching it recently and my wife got sucked in. At some point she literally said "this is a good fucking movie. Why haven't I ever seen this?"

Predator is my favorite movie.
I just rewatched Predator 2 the other week and I haven’t seen it since I was a kid. Still excellent.
Predators with Adrian Brody is awesome. Very well done. I have to say pretty bad ass. Predator vs Aliens franchise is also quality shit. The whole storyline is amazing.
I am not a science fiction dork. But I just love these movies.
I’d say the only thing I can think is that this movie still holds weight. Storyline, actors, testosterone, guns. Still bad ass. A small group of mercenaries set behind the line on a covert C.I.A. mission. It’s not in the desert, or some stupid “I have unlimited resources” movie with a political twist. You can’t find these movies anymore. I was probably 6 or 7 when it came out. Everyone wanted to be these bad asses. Guns, cigars, creeping around the jungle.Comment

The original with Arnie was the best one. All the other ones including the Robert Rodriguez reboot sucked. "Alien vs Predator" was just terrible.Comment

AVP was not such bad, I mean the first one, the second was like a prom night horror comedy.

Predator I and II were both excellent, Predator was the first movie with Arnold that I saw in cinema as a kid. I like how the Predator II was put into whole different settings and had some exciting script and an excellent cast.
Nothing from the follow ups comes nowhere close to it. Anybody else finds CGI ruining just about every movie these days? Never got used to it.
