FIDDY.

What they are doing is resetting PR value for expired domains. Therefore you may as well go buy a brand spanking new domain with no possible bad history with google ....

There's really no point in buying expired domains - google will find relevance with your new domain, and it wont penalise you for questionable tactics

SEGuru 04-30-2003 09:51 PM

You assume that no other engine takes into account Link Pop.

Ask anyone who plays this game, it can be very lucrative.
You just have to play!

True that Drew... hey I think i know you ... icq me 3523650

Good luck with this seguru - lets hope its not 'spidertrap the second' eh??

SEGuru 04-30-2003 10:00 PM

d0se, its called roll with the punches.

SpiderTrap was a great ride while it lasted. As with any SEO technique, one must change and adapt their techniques over time to still succeed.

As an aside, you there will be a "members only" newsletter featuring articles on click stream analysis and optimization, E-Marketing Tips, Feature Interviews with Search Engine Reps, Biz-Dev Reps, Branding techniques, and much more.

Expired Domains is just one facet to SEGuru.Net. Enjoy Beta Testers!

sacX 04-30-2003 10:28 PM

there are bunches of other programs that do this...

Of course there is still value in expired domains.. I was kind of hoping the google expired thing would distract people and let them think they were worthless again :)

Google takes approximately 5 days to see expired domains in their listings. If seguru's system checks daily or multiple times daily, you would have ample time to reg the names and have whois updated before google or yahoo even knew it. Hence it would not be dropped.

and it seems that everyone is forgetting yahoo and google are only 2 engines.

SEGuru 05-01-2003 12:35 AM

Yeah...What he said! LOL

William is indeed correct. That just means that you have to work this daily to find those gems.

Brujah 05-01-2003 12:41 AM

Expired domains are dead.
;)

SEGuru 05-01-2003 01:02 AM

Brujah knows...Listen to Brujah! We don't have a clue do we bro? hehehehe

you might keep the domain in for that month.. but google are a bit smarter than that. If they are serious about dealing with expired domains they're going to use multiple 'signals'. At least for com/net domains they can watch the zonefiles..

slavdogg 05-01-2003 01:32 AM

SEGuru, email me :)

d0se 05-01-2003 01:40 AM

I guess for some people it might be worth it, but this would have been much more useful a year ago. Drops may not be useless, but they are nowhere near as valuable as they were 3 months ago.

Still, if you want to pay to get the funky newsletter thats your call.

but the 'soon to be pr0' domain finder aint gonna do much good imho.

And as for the 'yahoo and google are not the only engines' well.. maybe so but google imho is the most important - and I'd prefer to find legit sources of incoming links and PR, and send them to new RELEVANT domains which will last longer than a few weeks...

And if you think your gonna find a useful number of decent adult domains being dropped each day, you got another thing coming.

But hey! I dont care if you promote beasty with www.ourfamilychurch.com

SEGuru 05-01-2003 01:53 AM

Now thats just wrong. Also, your opinion.

Remember, you have to be on the field to be in the game. Sometimes, you come against an opponent that plays with different tactics than you.

It matters not what they are, just that they are on the field.

Thats the only way to succeed in this. My site is merely one option, as is Brujahs, and others like ours.

That's what makes the web such a great place, you do it your way and I do it mine, and we're all happy in the end.

adamneve 05-01-2003 02:01 AM

do you have room for one more?

adamneve

email on the way

SEGuru 05-01-2003 02:17 AM

words of wisdom SEGuru! whatever works for you.

My point was that expired domains are not worth as much or an easy to utilizes as they were a few months back....BUT they do still hold some value.Your site looks the goods as far as this kind of services goes.

peace and good luck with it.

Soo after 5 days, that domain has expire, its removed from listing ?

SEGuru 05-01-2003 12:16 PM

The programmers have a massive test underway on Google right now.

Off the bat they found one expired, it was 14 days out from its expiry...yet still listed at Google.

d0se: Please do not take my "text" for a tone of voice or the like. For those who really know me...they know that I am only here to help webmasters. Have been from the beginning! So, not cocky here, just happy to finally have my service in BETA.
