Great article though. Seems a bit much to me, but in all honesty, if you're going to be carrying the weapon that can kill multiple people within seconds then maybe they should have standards as strict. I mean, a face to face interview with a cop, pretty hardcore but effective I bet.

in my country the cops visit some of your neighbors and talk to them...this is the best way IMO because character reference means little if the ones vouching for you are thugs or nuts...

I'm not a gun fan and I've lived in areas where you walk into any restaurant and guys will have sidearms - it can make you a bit uncomfortable. I've always considered rigorous background checks to be a common sense approach, but having said that, I am now more distrustful of those that advocate for gun control. I don't like the rest of their work, so I'm suspicious of what their ultimate goals for this would be. Not 99% of the people themselves - I understand what they are thinking and why. It's that shady 1% that need to be watched.Comment

I agree... the platforms for gun control actually mean eradication. the anit-gunners will NEVER accept anything other than total ban of guns, no border around America, the English language eradicated along with western culture eradicated, the total promotion heterosexuality, stamping out Christianity ... weird bunch of fucks for sure...... oh.. and will all find a separate divisional identities so we can all be the same!!

The wife and I just binged the last 3 seasons of Deadwood - I wouldn't be in favor of that kind of life! But if the authority and money interests in that show were the only ones with guns - that would be even worse.Comment
