It's sad. Way back in the 90's I had a couple of jobs where I worked nights and I would listen to his show. It was always a little crazy and strange, but interesting.Comment

I remember one night he had a guy on who claimed to have built a working time machine. For $3 and a SASE you could buy the blueprints from him for the machine. One of my co-workers ordered it just out of curiosity. When they came, they were pretty lame and had the disclaimer that it would only work if you were time traveling for purely good reasons. So, if you made it and it didn't work, they could always just claim you weren't pure of heart.
We found ourselves wondering how many people ordered them if for no other reason than it was only a couple of bucks and was funny. Art Bell had thousands of listeners. That guy could have made bank selling time machine plan
