Moscow today is a way different city to what it was 10 years ago. And it's a completely different world to the one is was 20 years ago. Not even mentioning the dark and gloomy Soviet times...

The sun hours and average price of sq m to average salary are very similar to London. Perhaps that's why all Russian oligarchs live there :) Our weather is not good at all and the real estate prices are very high, that's true. But I don't agree about the driving culture. Course it's much worse than in the USA but it's just brilliant in comparison to the Italian one. Have you tried to cross the road by zebra in Rome? Everytime you do it, you feel like kamikaze. Here in Moscow you just go ahead and all cars will stop.

No. The English people are not friendlier than Russians for sure (I have worked a lot with them). But they are very close to Russians. They are not hypocrites like French ones, for example. sorry, but I have completely different opinion about Brits. I like them more than French. They are polite and diplomatic on daily basis to that level, that they know how to hide their emotions...Some people will say that they are hypocrites...

I know a lot of people who already left the USA, Britain, Czech Republic, South Korea etc and moved here. They are expats and emigrants. Even my mother in law is half-Polish. So what?

Even Russian oligarch Berezovsky always wanted to return here from London all the time and committed suicide. The same says Chichvarkin, who also lives in London but dreams to someday return to Moscow. "Some day" is when Putin's regime will fall and he won't be prosecuted here. I personally know guys who were living for years in Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic and they have returned back to Moscow, because those countries were too boring for them. I know even one woman who lived for about 5 years in LA (USA) - she's an ex of my friend. And she has returned too.
