If a baby will be born by the Russian parents in the USA, he/she will be Russian and the American citizen simultaneously. The same applies to Jews, Italians etc. There is no American nationality. It's just a country. Otherwise we all (me, Sid70 and O Marina) would be considered Soviets, because we were born in the USSR. But it was also just a country. As about the "American parents", I have no idea who are you talking about. If they are Jews from the USA, the baby will be also a Jaw but with Russian citizenship. He/she can be considered American only if the parents were Indians - the one and only real American nationality. Everybody else in the USA are immigrants from England, Germany, India, Pakistan, Somalia etc. We have the same situation here. Russia is a multi-national country. But if you ask say a Chechen who he is, he will never say that he is a Russian, because he is a Chechen. So will be with a Jew, an Armenian, a Bashkir etc. So don't confuse nationality with citizenship.

There is a journalist Vladimir Pozner on Russian TV. He was born in France, his family have moved to the USA when he was a 4 year old. He has grown in the States, but after that he has immigrated to the Soviet Union and now lives in Russia. So he has 4 citizenships: French, American, Soviet and Russian. Course the average life in Czech Republic is better than average in Russia like Tambov, Magadan, Dagestan, Chechnia etc (Russia is a VERY big country and we have a lot of very depressive regions). The sun hours and average price of sq m to average salary are very similar to London. Perhaps that's why all Russian oligarchs live there :) Our weather is not good at all and the real estate prices are very high, that's true. But I don't agree about the driving culture. Course it's much worse than in the USA but it's just brilliant in comparison to the Italian one. Have you tried to cross the road by zebra in Rome? Everytime you do it, you feel like kamikaze. Here in Moscow you just go ahead and all cars will stop.

No. The English people are not friendlier than Russians for sure (I have worked a lot with them). But they are very close to Russians. They are not hypocrites like French ones, for example. If they don't like you, they will not smile at your face and will tell you everything they think about you or even beat your face. Despite all the stereotypes, Brits drink even more than Russians. So Russians and Brits are very similar. As about the happiness and multicultural things I also don't agree. Russia is a home of 200+ nations and believe me, it's a very multicultural country. When I was a kid I grown in a city where Muslim children were knocking the doors and asking for Easter eggs, while I was always celebrating Kurban Bairam. My Muslim friends ate pork and drunk vodka and I could easily go to a mosque just for fun (I'm an atheist). We have a lot of mixed cultures here, but we have no Muslim patrols in Moscow like Brits have.

There is no mud in Moscow too. As about winter, it's true of course. But sometimes it's better to have some snow at Christmas rather than rain and fog ;)

Even Russian oligarch Berezovsky always wanted to return here from London all the time and committed suicide. I personally know guys who were living for years in Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic and they have returned back to Moscow, because those countries were too boring for them. I know even one woman who lived for about 5 years in LA (USA) - she's an ex of my friend. And she has returned too.
