I think its a tragedy, really. That school resource officer had a gun and he shot & killed some kid. School resource officers should NOT have guns.

I'm satisfied that schools are doing all that needs to be done. Any student that chews a pop-tart into the shape of a gun is promptly and quickly suspended. If that's not zero tolerance, I don't know what is.

You can bet that Fox News had nothing about the story of the teacher accidentally squeezing one off in a classroom and injuring a child. That's a better picture of what will be happening if teachers have guns. For the 99.99999999% of time there's no gunman shooting up the school, there'll always be no shortage of teachers who shouldn't be handling guns around children, doing stupid shit like accidentally shooting something -- or someone. Who wants to be the first parent to have their child killed by a teacher? Raise your hand.

This arming teacher's idea is like laying 10,000 mouse traps all over the house because a mouse got in and hoping one of the traps will catch the next one, which may never come.
