    Meltdown and Spectre patches

anybody having problems with their servers for this Meltdown and Spectre scare?

it seems odd to me that all these patches were applied on the the pretence of ifs, buts, and maybes, when no cloud hosts had actually been infected,

so intel put out a scare and 3rd parties[microsoft and others] have the solution apply these patches and everything will be ok

you can read this bs here
    https://blog.malwarebytes.com/securi...-need-to-know/

even vultr have written "While the full details of the security issue are still restricted"

this says it all even though we don't fully know what it is all about, we will go ahead apply these patches without giving the customers the choice,

I'm on managed one, and the hosting company took care of it two months ago. (hopefully)

The risk is more on vps/cloud services, not so much a managed dedicated.

As far as I'm aware, all major Linux distributions have their own kernel patch, so as long as you regularly update your servers, this should have been patched a while ago. Please correct me if I was wrong.
