Rant Share your hangover cure ...

A bloody sunday evening filled with cheap wine and even cheaper beer. Woke up dead and my usual cure of scrambled eggs is cancelled because all my huevos are rotten (the smell almost made me faint).

Care to share an alternative remedy??

Climb out of the 80's, and for every alcoholic drink you have drink a glass of water, you still drink, even get drunk, it just slows you to a better pace and replaces the water your body is losing.

Gatorade, Advil and weed, then a nap. I haven't drank in 13 months because of hangovers. Every time I think about drinking I remember my last hangover and decide it's just not worth it.

First... Have a bloody beer before going to bed. V8 juice and something relaxed like Coors Light.

If you do wake up the next day fucked up.

Bloody beer, plus Marchuran chicken noodles. Do not use Cup of Noodles. It tastes like styrofoam. Has to be Marchuran. Shrimp can work too. Spicy shrimp if you are a spicy kind of person.

Now you need potassium. Bananas or orange juice are good sources. Also potatoes.

If still not 100%, another bloody beer.

All the while, drink lots of water.

By now you should be able to toss back Jack Daniels. If not, there is no hope.

My take on wine...

Go to Stater Bros if in socal. Buy bottles in large quantities. They give you 30% off for four, sometimes 40% off on six. Get decent brands. Federalist, murffey goodie (only twist off I'll drink), anything in the $8+ range, which will be much less with the discount. Other stores do this same deal in other places of the world.

Stick to Pinot noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Don't do white wines for lots of drinking. You will hate yourself because of the sugars.

Black box if you have to and have lots of drinking to do.

The more you spend, the less fucked up tomorrow will be. But with 40% off deals you can get some really nice shit.

Same goes with tequila. Spend more, hate less.

Vodka: Chopin, belvedere. Only

I'm an expert, I'm a nightlife lover and go out multiple times a week and have been doing so for over 20 years.

- get a proper meal before you start drinking
- don't mix different alcohol, if you stick with 1 drink the whole night the hangover will be less
- don't drink cheap wine/beer/liquor, it really makes the hangover worse
- drink 1 glass of water after each glass of alcohol, it makes you pee more but it really works so it's worth it
- if you are into coke, take a bump now and then throughout the night, it always results in far less hangover for some reason
- when you get home drink more water and take a paracetamol and go to sleep
- as soon as you wake up drink more water and take another paracetamol if you feel heavy headed

This is my routine and I am never hangover and function completely fine the next day.

1) Two shots of vodka and you will be totally renewed. Just not more than that, because otherwise you are risking to get drunk again... And a good meal after that, of course.

2) Also in Russia we are used to cure handover by drinking cabbage brine. Some prefer a cucumber pickle, but it's less effective.

P.S. The 1st method is the most effective by a combine effect on your body. During the night you liver turns the booze into various toxins, including methanol. Just be smart.

If you plan to drink a few pitchers with your friends, drink lots of water too. Be sure to eat. The next day your hangover won't be quite as bad. Drink water when you wake up and toss down a couple of Advils (2 max). Eat breakfast and you'll feel better. For some reason, a GREASY breakfast like Bacon & Eggs, especially if the Eggs are fried in the same pan the bacon was fried in, really destroys my hangover. Mmm..hungry now.

I don't know if I really believe in a cure for a hangover...but I will say that the few times I've had a hangover, I followed someone's advice about having a greasy bacon egg and cheese sandwich washed down with a whole bottle of Gatorade.

It definitely helped make me feel better every time I did that.
