I do. Just got to thinking that back in the day, I had a whole bank of hard drives in my old PCs and then detachable drive after detachable drive to swap files between them and back up etc...

But in 2017 I have just one computer with a TB drive thats just over half full and a ghost drive which is separate. It just seems that whatever I used to seem to need the space for, I don't need it anymore...

Possibly that a lot of stuff is in the cloud now perhaps? I dunno. Just thinking out loud. What say you?

BTW, I'm not talking about if you do 4K video editing etc... Thats a given - I just mean general everyday stuff

Years ago we used to build computers that were crammed full of hard drives just to keep up with our storage needs... Thankfully those days are behind us.

Not at all. I'm filling up more hard drives faster with my new content shoots every 8 months or so with 3 cameras, 3 camera angles, using 4k cameras.

Unless you are editing and storing a lot of video totally agree.

Video is being streamed instead of down loaded.
Nobody is storing photo content to make TGP galleries.

Just the other day I was talking to a friend about this. Several years ago I bought an external hard drive for backing files up. It was about 200gb, about the side of a paperback book and it needed its own power supply. And it cost $250. I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. It was $50 and it is a 1TB drive that doesn't need a power supply. Pretty amazing how prices continue to drop.

Hmm just last week I replaced my 2TB HDD with a 512GB SSD and I have it less than half full. Totally worth it.
