setting up network
I'm setting up a home network.. 2 computers, cable connection and hub. WinXP on both comps. The desktop works fine and connects to internet. I cant get the laptop to connect to the internet through the cable connection...
Any tips? and yes everything is plugged in correctly. |

wall -> Cable Modem ---> cat5 ----> hub --> computers
correct? If it's setup like that, and you cannot get a lease w/ the second box you connect.. Call the cable company and request a second IP. Most likely the problem. -Phil |

Yes thats how its setup and no 2nd IP's are not allowed for residential customers. They told me to use a hub to get the internet on 2 computers though.
