Just because it's business hours for you, it doesn't mean it's business hours for him. Also, who cares if there was no away message? Sorry for you if he doesn't want to set an away message everytime he steps out, or goes to sleep. Generally speaking, if someone doesn't answer you then assume that they are away and will get your message when they come back. If you would have seen him making posts on GFY, or other bored, then ok, you might have something to complain about. But you didn't.
