phplist for email marketing still the way to go?
The Email 101, 102 & 103 posts in the Education forum are somewhat dated, originally written in 2010! In the first post the author said he was using phplist so I wanted to ask if anyone knows if that's still the best choice in 2017/2018 for an adult site. I'd like to start collecting email addresses from my site visitors so I can send out a newsletter every now and then. All the big players like ConstantContact, etc. don't allow adult content.

we have some big sites that still use phplist. the biggest problem these days is domain verification. everybody but gmail returns unauthenticated sending domains.
if you want to send out text emails, you will get nearly 100% delivery rate with SparkPost. we are using it for transactionals. we might use it for newsletters too but there's no art lol

Checked with SparkPost and they don't allow adult content.
Ynot mail is too expensive so it looks like phplist is my best option unless someone else has a suggestion.Comment
