Kool-Aid Questions...

So it comes in powdered form where you add water to it but...

Does it come in concentrate form too where you need to dilute it down?

We have 'cordial' in England and im looking for something like that in the US but so far, everything resembling 'squash' or 'cordial' the Americas have managed to fuck up.

Also...

Lemonade... its supposed to be carbonated where can i find 'real' carbonated lemonade?

Anyone know of a drink like what i am looking for in the US?

Brand names and stores they can be found would be appreciated

Regards,

Lee

Cordials and so forth are more rare in the US, but they are out there. Many of them come in cans, in the juice section of your supermarket. Just ask for "concentrated" juice, etc.

Also, Lemonade is a cloudy lemon-juice based drink. For some reason, people here in the UK also use that name for slightly lemon-flavoured soda. In the US, we call that "sprite" or any other brand name.

We have Sprite in England too and, to be honest its NOT the same as lemonade

Although, now ya mentioned Sprite, even that tastes completely different over here tha it does in England, along with Coke, Pepsi, Fanta, Dr Pepper Etc etc lol

Lee

No, sprite and lemonade aren't quite the same. Sprite tries for "lemon-lime", as does 7-Up. Still, they are pretty close, and you can probably find one that is pretty close to plain "lemonade".

I'm in Australia, and cordial is fuckin huge down here, haven't seen any cool aid..

when i was in canada, we had some great stuff.. I don't remember cordials, but i had Ribena before.

Have you tried ribena? it's a pretty good blackcurrant jiuce concentrate mix in a bottle, not bad tasting.

the difference between lemonades was my first clash of cultures moment when I moved to the UK. My first full day here my now husband took me into central London for lunch and I ordered a lemonade expecting the American 'country time' type stuff. Instead I get the Sprite type stuff. I of course just drank it like that is what I was expecting.

You can get non-carbonated stuff in the UK in the cool section that is closer to the American kind. In the US if you want stuff closer to British lemonade then you need to look for supermarket own brand or A-Treat style lemon sodas.
