    LOL Revenge on Globill

This is just so fucking retarded I had to post it here. Someone said on another forum they're gonna get revenge on Globill by telling all their customers to charge back their memberships.

Yeah, smart move. Way to teach people how to get porn for free.

    ------------------
Right after GloBill's announcement to get out of business together with their nice add-ons like "do NOT attempt to cash any checks" and "do not phone, fax or email" I did the following:

    1) Set up a signup page for an extra account with a substantial discount (within a protected directory)

    2) Created a page explaining members that Globill went belly up and any transaction after
07/21 shouldn't have been charged to their credit card at all. Also explaining them the difference between a legitimate charge back and an illegitimate one (You wouldn't believe how many credit card holders don't know they have the "right" to request a charge back; and a few bastards know that quite too well...). I ask them to request charge backs for any GloBill transactions as the cc companies would have to accept them as well founded.
Of course there is a link to the protected directory with the "special sign up" page.

    3) Deleted the htpassword file for GloBill members an made the directory where this file resided write protected so GloBill can't put the file up again.

    4) Modified my htaccess file so that any users coming from GloBill.com are redirected to this "GloBill - Extra" page

For me all the money GloBill cashed thru June and July is lost anyway. And so are rebills.
    Why not let them bleed?

And if I shouldn't get some checks from EGS soon it will be little work to extend this configuration...

complete moron. Teach more and more users how to chargeback. What a fucking dipshit.

Those users that this wembaster is teaching how to chargeback will probably chargeback on that guy's very site under whatever new billing company the now use. Some people don't think and just act on emotions.

People know how to chargeback - believe me.

I don't think it's such a bad idea. Why the fuck should we make it easier for Glo-Bill? They took off with a month's worth of everyone's checks, plus our reserve money. We can't access our pay stats, nor can we change our Members Area URL. And to insult to injury, their official message to us stated that members would still be able to login and that memberships would expire as normal - which has proven to be yet another lie.

We aren't going to see a fucking penny from them - I have no problem with sending them 200 chargebacks - At least it would give me some type of satisfaction to know I did my part to fuck them.

            What a brilliant idea!

While doing that, lets all put a big notice on the join pages that for whatever reason, even such reason as not getting that 3rd ejactulation, that you could charge back your membership.

This will probably backfire. They'll charge back to Globill and then they will charge back their new cheap membership... hey why not if it is that easy?

Umm...well - for one, as a cardholder, you can only make so many chargebacks.

As far as Visa is concerned - I have been thinking about this whole rotten situation regarding Visa's extortion fees. What exactly is the reason that Visa feels the need to collect $750 from adult webmasters?

Chargebacks? As website owners - we all know what happens when someone charges back - not only is the card holder refunded, but we usually have to pay an extra $25 chargeback fee. It comes out of OUR pockets - not the bank's, the customer's or the third party billing company and certainly not Visa's.

The adult internet industry is castigated, strong armed and penalized - yet the credit card companies encourage fraudulent chargebacks by allowing any schmuck whose wife finds their credit card, to say "it wasn't me!"

What the fuck is going on?

That would be a big bite in the ass from karma. God, I was so pissed when I read his post - it's fuckheads like that that make it harder for the rest of us with Visa.

I lost a lot of money, too. But I think it's just plain stupid to cry "Globill took our money and now make a good living off of it" or something like that.
Globill was a damn good billing company with the best support around. The only problem: they underestimated the power of VISA.
They are just as fucked as we are. (probably even deeper)
They don't own all the money.
It seems that some people don't understand what has happened...
                      Just my

oh, and telling people to charge back is the most stupid idea I've ever heard. That's NOT the support/advice I expect when joining a paysite.

Do you know why your members chargeback? I recently
did an examination of chargebacks to our sites and found that
outright consumer fraud (ie your example above) accounts for less than 18% of our total chargebacks.

Don't be so naive. Do you really believe that most chargebacks made to adult sites are legitimate? Anyone joining my websites knows exactly what they are getting - TONS of super high quality, all original, niche content - no surprises, no bullshit.

The fact remains that neither the credit card companies, nor the banks care if a customer charges back or why. It's all on the merchant.

And Glo-Bill has our money - if you don't belive it - check out this site:

                          http://www.fidesco.com

FIDESCO is a Trust Corp. located in St.Kitts - their business is asset protection and wealth preservation. Glo-Bill is looking out for #1.

Does the address look familiar? It should, because it's the EXACT SAME address which is on Glo-Bill's website.

I tend to agree with you. I think most chargebacks are guys who just don't wanna get caught by their wife. After years of working in customer service for a sponsor program, it was usually the wife calling inquiring about the charge on their card. When I told them the news that it was for a porn site, most of them would flip.

Of course the husband is just gonna claim fraud, he doesn't wanna sleep on the couch for a month.

I didn't say legitimate. However, most chargebacks made to our sites are not likely from active members who were "forced" to deny a charge by a spouse. The vast majority of chargebacks were from people who did not or could not access our sites. The vast majority of chargebacks applied to the first rebill.

I once thought like you did. Then I actually looked at the numbers. Have you done that? Do you even track which accounts are logging in, how often, and viewing what? If not, you should.

There are a lot of assumed "truths" in this industry and most of them aren't.

I sent every member an email that told them:

                                  1. We would honor every day of their signup, even though we didn't get paid.

                                  2. Globill execs are criminals. They probably have left the country by now. Has nothing to do with Visa, they showed their colors the way the shut off the company.

                                  3. Gave them a link to a reduced price CCBill signup.

                                  4. Told them to have a nice day!

                                  Then -

Renamed my CGI, so Globill can't hack into my sites.

                                    Will this nightmare ever end?!

I deposited the last Globill check I received (on 7/22) which was three days before they went down - leaving us with nothing but a page of bullshit warning us not to cash their checks. Today my bank returned their worthless check - and what is interesting - is that it was marked "stop payment" as opposed to insufficient funds.

I guess that's just another $800 than I can tack on to the $5000 that I am all ready owed by those maggots.

You bring up a good point - all former (and totally fucked) Globill webmasters need to - at the very least - change the user name/password for our FTP and other sensitive areas which Globill had access.
